Memorial Day 2003 It was a beautiful day in Augusta. The cemetery had many visitors.

- The Luttrull family held their 71st Memorial Day service.
- The American Legion played Taps and gave a 21-Gun Salute at the grave of Mike Mardis, the veteran most recently buried in the Augusta Cemetery.
- The Augusta Cemetery Association held its annual meeting.
- David Laswell was elected to the Board of Trustees as the new President.
- Lucille Thomas was elected to the Board of Trustees.
- New prices were proposed and adopted:
- Lot (Four grave spaces) changed from $150.00 to $200.00. Location selected by purchaser.
- Half-Lot (Two grave spaces) changed from $90.00 to $125.00. Location selected by trustees.
- Quarter-Lot (One grave space) changed from $50.00 to $75.00. Location selected by trustees.
- New cemetery rules were proposed and adopted:
- Interment of animals is not permitted.
- Only potted plants and flowers are permitted.
