Maintenance and Preservation The trustees ensure that new graves are leveled and seeded, the cemetery is mowed and cleaned, fixtures are painted, and the toilet is cleaned and emptied. |
Memorial Day Starting the week before Memorial Day, the trustees ensure that benches are placed on the grounds for the public, raise and lower the flag, place flags on the servicemen's graves, set up a collection station for donations, and provide assistance to visitors looking for graves. |
Plots and Records The trustees sell plots and lots, process purchases, keep records of ownership and burials, ensure headstones are set in the correct location, and ensure burials are in the correct location. |
Continuity To ensure continuity of Augusta Cemetery Association, the Board of Trustees holds an annual meeting and election. The annual meeting and election are held at approximately 9:00 AM on Memorial Day at the cemetery. At the meeting, a new Trustee is elected for a five-year term. Any descendant of someone buried at the cemetery or anyone that owns a plot is eligible to vote, run for office, or nominate a candidate. Please attend. |
Volunteers The trustees are volunteers. Their compensation is the opportunity to honor the ancestors, friends, neighbors, and community members who have stepped off of the mortal coil and been laid to rest. If you would like to volunteer, contact a trustee from the list at the top of the page. |
Donations The Augusta Cemetery Association accepts donations for the maintenance and preservation of the cemetery. To donate to the Augusta Cemetery Association, contact a trustee from the list at the top of the page. |
